Tips For A Healthy Summer Road Trip
For many families, summertime means road trips. Places like the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas, the world’s biggest ball of yarn—are all reachable via your car. We know that family time is very important to you during the summer months and that is why we want to give you some healthy tips to take on the road with you, so you can be free of bodily discomfort while you travel.
Our Favorite Tips for Safe and Healthy Trips
These are our favorite tips because they apply to everyone in your family. Getting everyone in the habit of doing them means you can help the whole family feel their best
The first of our healthy tips involves remembering to drink water. Make sure that everyone in your family has their own water bottle, and while you travel remember to periodically sip water. Avoiding dehydration is hugely important when traveling, so make sure you’re drinking enough to not be thirsty.
Remember to take breaks more often than you think. Sometimes we get so focused on getting to the destination we can forget to take care of ourselves in the moment. During your next road trip, make sure to account for time outside and away from your car. In getting out and stretching your legs, you’ll help to facilitate blood flow and help to realign your back after driving for hours.
Also, make sure to either get a car with lumbar support or buy a car seat slip-on with lumbar support. Not having to control the rightness of our sitting helps with fatigue and irritability. This summer, make sure you have thought about your lumbar — because we certainly have!

Once you’re back home, there is more still to accomplish. This can include unloading the grill, RV, or luggage. It’s at this point in time people begin to realize if their muscles are tired or overworked. Those who have realized their discomfort early tend to make an appointment for a few days after they’ve returned so they are set up for their next relief session.
